What do I need to bring to try out Tae Kwon-do?
You just need to wear comfortable clothing which allows free movement for kicks etc. as well as a drink. We perform Tae kwon-do bare-foot.
Can I just turn up for a trial lesson?
We welcome anyone dropping in to try out Tae kwon-do, although it may be a good idea to contact the instructor to make sure there's no special lessons going on, such as a mock grading, as this wouldn't be the best time for a new starter to come along.
When can I buy a suit?
The instructors will want you to attend a few trial lessons first before you commit to buying a suit and start paying lesson and license fees.
How often can I grade?
Initially you can grade every 3 months until blue belt, and then every 6 months.
How long would it take to get to black belt?
If you took and passed every grading you could become a black belt in just over 3½ years.
How much does it cost?
Once you've decided that you wish to continue Tae kwon-do after your trial there are some membership and licensing costs. Costs are listed elsewhere on this website but in summary they are as follows:
Monthly fee for lessons - £25 for 1 person(You can train as many time as you want at any of the other Gloucester clubs listed here). £36 for 2 people from the same family
£38 yearly license
Around £35 for a training suit/dobok
£28 per grading - every 3-6 months
There may be offers on with the different clubs which may help out with the first initials months including licenses and suit
